ABOUT YOUR COUNSELOR AND TYPE OF COUNSELING PROVIDED

I'm a Tacoma Native and lived here most my life. I graduated from Bellarmine High School in 1987 and then from Arizona State University with a BA in Liberal Arts & Sciences and Major in Psychology in 1992. I earned a Masters Degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from Pacific Lutheran University in 1996.

I provide counseling for individuals, couples, domestic partnerships, and families. I can also facilitate discussions and offer group presentations about common clinical topics i.e the Impact of Divorce on Children, Stress, Anxiety, Depression, LGBTQ related issues.

THE METHODS OF TECHNIQUES USED

As a graduate of PLU's Marriage & Family Therapy Program my clinical training is strongly grounded in systems theory, in that I consider it important to take into account the larger situation a person is involved with. I tend to favor Structural, Narrative and Solution Focused therapeutic approaches.
